Double torsion springs are two springs made of one spring material wound in opposite directions on the same mandrel with the same number of turns. The middle of the two springs is the retaining ring, and the two ends are the fulcrum for increasing the torque. The torsional stiffness of each spring is twice as high as when one of the two springs is used as a single spring. The stiffness of the double torsion spring is 4 times that of the single spring, and the deformation is 1/4 of the single spring. Therefore, the double torsion spring has the highest rate. Compared to the torsion-contraction background spring yellow with the same outer diameter, the spring with this structure can obtain 2 times the deformation, that is, 2 times the deformation angle. Therefore, this double torsion spring is suitable for occasions where the space is small and a large deformation angle is required, or the occasions where two torques act on the same plane.
